Each t-shirt Laeti-Berlin is a unique product because I silk-screened it in our collective print salon in Berlin.
This impression is serigraphied on one side with the white pattern “Danseur Velouté“ on an denim blue t-shirt.
The original image is a monotype that I engraved in 2010 for a serie of dancers (some memories of movements). Monotyping is a type of
printmaking made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent surface.
The material of those T-shirts is the bamboo.
Bamboo leaves and the soft, inner pith from the hard bamboo trunk are extracted using a steaming process and then mechanically crushed. The bamboo fibre is a cellulose fibre extracted or fabricated from natural bamboo, and possibly other additives, and is made from the pulp of bamboo plants. It is usually not made from the fibres of the plant, but is a synthetic viscose made from bamboo cellulose.
Moreover, the bamboo is extremely resilient and durable as a fiber. In studies comparing it to cotton and polyester, it is more eco-friendly and shows better moisture absorption.
Label “FAIR WEAR Foundation”: pro-active social responsibility. So this t-shirt is too fair trade ! About Continental Clothing
You can wash your t-shirt up to 30 °C (86 °F) and you can tumble dry.
Don’t worry! The print will stay perfect after the wash, because I fixed it with a special emulsion and I pressed it to impregnate.
