Each tote bag recycled Laeti-Berlin is a unique product because I silk-screened it in our collective print salon in Berlin.
This impression is serigraphied in blue gradation (ultramarine blue and cyan) on one side with the pattern “Emotions”, on a natural-colored (un-dyed) bag.
The original image is an illustration that I did in 2013.
A tote bag is a fashion trend in Berlin. They have two handles. It’s called “Beutel” in German coming from the good old “Jutebeutel”, a natural fiber used for making rope and cloth and carrying potatoes. In the 1960s “Jute not Plastic” started the recycling movement. During the 80s jute bags became beautiful, practical and ecological items of alternative culture in Berlin.
Personally, I found this kind of bag for the first time in Berlin. In France, they don’t sell these in supermarkets and they don’t carry or wear them.
In fact, ecological conscience is part of my ethics. So I print this bag on organic textile. And this bag is completely recycled (Salvage ™): 60% recycled pre-consumer cotton organically grown, 40% Recycled post-consumer polyester.
This bag is too fair trade 🙂
You can wash your bag up to 30 °C (86 °F). Don’t worry, the print will stay perfect because I fixed it with a special emulsion and I pressed it to impregnate.
