Description
Poster Kino International Berlin
The print of Kino International Berlin represents an interesting cinema in Berlin-Friedrichshain, near Alexanderplatz.
I drew this urban sketch on the 14th of February 2018 directly at the location, front of the building, on the oher side of the big avenue of “Karl-Marx-Allee”. It was just before the opening of the festival international of cinema, called “Berlinale”, that’s why you can see a red carpet front of the door.
As a technique I applied wash drawing (ink + water). And as artistic tools I used for the poster Kino International Berlin:
- a sketchbook beige (textured paper, Format 23 x 15 cm – 9 ” x 5,9″-, 125 g/m2 – 427 lb.in2-)
- a calligraphic pen (“Pilot Parallel Pen”- 2.4 mm)
- fineliner Staedtler® triplus
- 2 paint brushes (fine and medium)
- colored pencils
- dry pastels
- marker Molotow
I was sitting on the border of the sidewalk, on the snow. I had to draw quickly because it was very cold!
This cinema was constructed during the GDR in 1963, and it’s still have an “Ostalgie” architecture and inside a beautiful atmosphere.
Behind this building, like a frame, there is the city hall (“Bürgeramt”) of the district Berlin-Mitte.
