Description
Poster Bikini Berlin
The Poster Bikini Berlin A4 represents the building “Bikini-Haus”. I drew directly on the location on 13th May 2018, in the district Charlottenburg. Map
On the left, you can see the church “Gedächtniskirche” (Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche) in renovation, near the Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm. And on the right, there is the Zoo of Berlin.
As a technique I applied wash drawing (ink and water). And the artistic tools that I used for this illustration are:
- a sketchbook Fabriano® (Soft Paper, Format 21 x 14,8 cm – 8 ¼” x 5″3/4-, 160g/m2 – 80 lbs-)
- a calligraphic pen (“Pilot Parallel Pen”- 2.4 mm)
- 2 fineliners Staedtler® pigment liner 0.05 and 0.1
- 2 paint brushes (fine and medium)
- watercolor
- chalk
I was sitting on the roof terrace of the mall “Bikini Berlin” during the sunset in West Berlin: “HIER FLANIERT BERLIN”…
The Bikinihaus is a listed former industrial, commercial and office building on Budapester Straße in the City West in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg.
As part of the new West Berlin center at the zoo, the Bikinihaus was built between 1955 and 1957 according to plans by architects Paul Schwebes and Hans Schoszberger. This complex was called “Zentrum am Zoo”. Now “Bikini Berlin” is the new concept: an oasis in the heart of the city, an urban hub and social universe. www.bikiniberlin.de
