Description
Big Poster Glaswerk Stralau, Ostkreuz
The Poster Glaswerk Stralau Berlin is panoramic (560 x 200 mm / 22 x 7,87 inch) and represents the remains of the glass factory or Glaswerk (1889-1997) of the peninsula Alt-Stralau.
I drew this urban sketch on the 24th of February 2014 directly at the location in Berlin-Friedrichshain. In the background, to the right of the water tower, you can see the new station building of Ostkreuz.
As a technique I applied wash drawing. And as artistic tools I used for the Poster Glaswerk Stralau Berlin:
- a sketchbook (Watercolor paper, fine grain- Format 31,5 x 23 cm -12,40″ x 9,05″-, 250 g/m2 – 0,05 lb.ft2-)
- a calligraphic pen (“Pilot Parallel Pen”- 2.4 mm)
- dry pastels
- 2 paint brushes (fine and medium)
I was sitting front of this ruin in the grass. It was sunny and I needed around one hour. It stays alive thanks to all these colors! Street art embellishes the past.
This illustration is also on my blog “Traversée d’Encres”.
