Poster Berlinale

The poster Berlinale Festival represents the decoration for the Berlinale in the mall of “Potsdamer Platz”.The “Potsdamer Platz Arkaden”.
The Berlinale is an international festival of cinema, which exists since 1950.

I drew this urban sketch on the 7th of February 2017 directly at the location in the district Berlin-Tiergarten: map. We are in the middle of the city-center.
On the same area, there is the “Berlinale Palast”, in the Theater am Potsdamer Platz, where the jury of the festival awards the prizes.
The culture has a big place in Berlin!

As a technique I applied wash drawing (ink and water). So as artistic tools I used for the poster Berlinale Festival:

• a sketchbook Moleskine® (Soft Paper, Format 21 x 13 cm – 8 ¼” x 5″-, 165 g/m2 – 564 lb.in2-)
• a fineliner Staedtler® pigment liner 0.1
• a calligraphic pen (“Pilot Parallel Pen”- 2.4 mm)
• 2 paint brushes (fine and medium)
• watercolor
• colored pencils
• chalk

I was sitting front of the ticket offices, where each year several people are camping on the red carpet. Yes, it’s autorised! They want at all costs many places for the Berlinale.
