Description
Strausberger Platz – Berlin
The Poster Strausberger Platz Berlin represents the fountain with a soviet-style. It’s called “Schwebender Ring” or Floating Ring and it was inspired by the artist Fritz Kuhn.
I was sitting on the 23rd of July 2020 directly on the place in the road “Karl Marx Allee”in the district Berlin-Friedrichshain.
As a technique I applied wash drawing (blackink and water).
And the artistic tools that I used for this illustration are:
- a watercolor block “Daler Rowney” (Fine Grain Paper, Format din A4 – 8.3 x 11.7 inches-, 200 g/m2 – 120 lb.-)
- a fineliner black 0.05 and 0.1
- 3 paint brushes (very fine, fine and medium)
- chalk
Behind there is the Haus Berlin, a shopping and apartment building designed by Herman Henselmann. 🏛️ This roundabout is situated on a monumental (very wide) socialist boulevard, on “Strausberger Platz” 📍. The “Karl Marx Allee” was built between 1952-65 by the former East German state.
We have the Sensation to be in another country in Eastern Europe or in Russia. 🏢
In the background you can maybe see the 2 towers of “Frankfurter Tor”.
